Our monthly long set poetry evening puts our favourite established performance poets on stage for a full 60 minutes, so you can really see their talent and get into the breadth and depth of their work. The show also gives a chance for local up-and-coming poets to present 30 minutes of their work. Tonight’s poets are:-
Shannan Mitchener – Twenty three year old poet from Buckinghamshire and graduate from DMU. Her spoken word poetry performance features her debut poetry collection, Meaningless Destruction. Through the eyes of her narrator, she explores painfully relatable themes such as love, loss, mental health, abuse, empowerment, and the endless pursuit of happiness. Listening to her share these intense observations on what it means to be human will leave you heartbroken but comforted that you are not alone in your experiences.
