Mellow Baku, performer, writer and composer, creates a potent, captivating performance of music and word, inspired by international Caribbean dub poet Jean Binta Breeze’s The Arrival of Bright-Eye.
Mellow explores themes evoked by Jean’s piece through new poetry and song. This beautifully crafted show describes through a child/woman’s eyes, a landscape made of relationships and separations from people and place, innocence lost, longings denied, identity and new beginnings.
This show is part of the Everybody’s Reading Festival and Black History Month.
