Venue Spec

Upstairs at the Western is a fully equipped black-box theatre space, with pre-rigged lanterns, speakers and projection controlled by light and sound desks in the wing (stage left).

The standard configuration is for 44 raked seats end on, with the first row at stage level and a 4m x 4m (depth x width) flat stage space. Extra rows of 8 seats can be added at the expense of 1m of stage depth each time.

For touring companies and monthly programmes, we provide a full theatre service, including digital promotion of shows, ticket sales, get-in/out support, basic technical support, box-office and ushering, with prompt settlement and payment. T&Cs are usually box office shares for touring companies and joint production budgets for monthly programmes. The theatre is also available to hire for rehearsal space as the stage diary allows. We operate from September through to June each year.
